2009 NWIRA Championship Regatta - Delay in Posting Regatta Results

Please accept our apologies for the delay in posting the 2009 NWIRA Championship Regatta results.

Canadian members of the NWIRA Executive Committee are reviewing and verifying the results. Given the narrow differences between first and second place for the Sir Thomas Lipton Cup aggregate points and the number of scratches, DNFs, and exhibitions in various events, we are taking steps to ensure that NWIRA points are appropriately assigned. We are also addressing eligibility issues of several athletes.

2009 NWIRA Regatta Information Packet is now available.

First of all, sorry for the delay in getting this packet out. The packet is 16 pages long. We had to make sure that we provide essential information to participating clubs. See attachments below.

The 106th NWIRA Championship Regatta is only about 5 weeks away. It will be held at Lake Elmo in the City of Lake Elmo on August 21-22, 2009. This will be the 23rd time that the Minnesota Boat Club has hosted or co-hosted the championship regatta. For some long time rowers, Lake Elmo will be a familiar site as it was the rowing venue for the 73rd NWIRA Championship Regatta in 1976.
