The 2009 NWIRA Championship Regatta Schedule is set. With 452 entries, 112 races have been scheduled over a two day period. 26 out of 51 events have heats in the mornings. 13 rowing clubs are representing in this championship regatta (Regina, Winnipeg, Rochester, Minneapolis, Thunder Bay, Twin City Youth Rowing, St. Paul, Kenora, Milwaukee, Duluth, Quad City, St. Croix) with 418 rowers participating in the regatta.

Friday Start Time is 6:30 AM and Last Event Start Time is 6:06 PM.
Saturday Start Time is 6:30 AM and Last Event Start Time is 5:56 PM.

Also attached an document with updated information on the regatta site at Lake Elmo Park Reserve, services available, and activities planned at the Banquet/Award Ceremony. It is important that visiting clubs review updated information about the regatta site at Lake Elmo.

Please note that the schedule is very tight, 10 minute center morning heats and 12 minute center for afternoon finals. Thus, it is very important that athletes, volunteers, coaches and officials work together to exchange boats as quickly and efficient as possible. Schedule was set to ensure that shared boats can be exchange with incoming and outgoing crews timely and safely. This will be very important for Saturday morning because there are a number of heats requiring doubles. Coaches, please try to arrange so the first heat and last heat use the same boats in close races . Athletes need to hustle and Officials need to keep communications open so that we allow all boats to make races if they are hustling. We may run late if we need to and try to make it up along the way but we do not want people missing events if they are on the way or trying to make the boats work.

NWIRA fee statement for each club will be sent out later on tonight or early tomorrow.
