An Invitiation to the 106th NWIRA Championship Regatta

The Minnesota Boat Club invites you to participate in the 106th Annual North Western International Rowing Association (NWIRA) Championship Regatta on August 21 and 22 (Friday and Saturday) at Lake Elmo, Minnesota. Lake Elmo’s namesake lake is the site for the US Rowing Association certified championship regatta where 51 rowing events will be conducted over the two day competition. The six lane buoyed race course begins at the south end of the lake and ends at the north end. All events except for dashes are 2000 meters. See attached document below to view schedule of events.
The regatta site will be at the boat launch area in the Lake Elmo Park Reserve, a large public park in Washington County, Minnesota. The park is located on the eastern side of the Twin Cities area, just outside of the 494-694 Beltway. Visit the park website, URL shown below, for more information about the park.

Regatta registration and complete regatta information packet will be available on the NWIRA website on July 20, 2009. Guest rowing clubs will be able to register their entries via RegattaCentral.com.
The city of Lake Elmo and Washington County welcomes the opportunity to be the host site to this international event for the second time in its history. Lake Elmo was the rowing venue for the 73rd Annual NWIRA Championship Regatta in 1976.
The Minnesota Boat Club encourages you to add the 106th Annual NWIRA Championship Regatta on August 21-22, 2009 to your club 2009 rowing schedule.
